Abstract

1362539 Lithographic plate production: photo-conductive plate ADDRESSOGRAPHMULTIGRAPH CORP 8 Oct 1971 [23 Nov 1970] 46986/71 Headings G2H and G2C A lithographic plate is made by charging and exposing a photo-conductive plate to form a latent image, developing the image with thermoplastic powder, fixing with infrared, and rendering the non-image areas hydrophilic; the plate comprising a conductive substrate bearing a layer of zinc oxide, resin and carbon black. It is stated that the inclusion of carbon black into the photo-conductive layer facilitates fixing of the powder image. Examples of photoconductive coating compositions are given typically: toluene, methylethylketone, silicone resin, zinc oxide, carbon black, a sensitizing dye and methanol.
