Abstract
1306745 Photoconductive composition EASTMAN KODAK CO 20 Aug 1970 [22 Aug 1969] 40166/70 Heading H1K A photoconductive composition comprises an organic photoconductor, a polymeric film forming material and a sensitizing dye of formula Z- wherein Ar<SP>1</SP> is an optionally subtituted aryl radial and Z- is an acid radical, or of formula wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are H or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical containing up to 8 carbon atoms, Ar<SP>11</SP> is an optionally substituted divalent aromatic radical, Z- is an acid radical and n is 1 to 10. In the embodiments a conductive substrate is coated with the composition to give an electrophotographic plate. After the plate has been charged, exposed and developed, it is heated to 120‹ C. whereupon the photoconductive layer is decolourized. The colour may be restored by treatment with hydrochloric acid and the plate re-used.
