Abstract

1362338 Humidifier BRONSWERK-APPARATENBOUW NV 5 July 1972 [9 July 1971] 31407/72 Heading B1R A humidifyer includes: a rotor 1 which comprises a disc 2 carrying a plurality of blades 3 spaced along the periphery of the disc 2 and extending parallel to the axis of rotation thereof which suport a plurality of axially spaced rings 4 coaxial with the disc; a stationary cage 5 coaxial with the disc 2 and surrounding the blades 3; a tubular, stationary gas duct element 21 through which water from supply conduit 23 and gas from the main gas stream are drawn. The water is atomized by the blades 3 in conjuction with cage 5 and the humidified gas passes through the cage 5. The main gas stream is produced by ventilator 11 forcing gas over stationary, truncated-conical guide surface 19 into the annular gap formed by cage 5 in main conduit 10. The rotor 1 is mounted on a shaft 6 and driven by motor 9. Ventilator 11 is driven by motor 15, but alternatively both rotor 1 and ventilator 11 may be both driven from a common motor.
