Abstract
1,019,804. Cooling dynamo-electric machine rotors. MEZ BRNO, NARODNI PODNIK. March 4, 1963 [March 9, 1962], No. 8614/63. Heading H2A. A high-speed dynamoelectric machine rotor 1 is cooled by a liquid which is injected from a stationary tube 5 into the inlet opening of an aligned and closely spaced tube 2 located in and rotating with a mainly smooth coaxial bore 14 in the rotor, the tube extending axially beyond the rotor bearings 13, located in a plurality of places by short equispaced longitudinal ribs 3 projecting radially from the tube, and having a bore diameter larger than that of the inlet opening. The latter is formed by a jet 4, and the liquid after flowing through the tube is reversed by a number 7 to pass through the rotor bore 14 and leave at an outlet 12 where it is prevented from entering the bearing 13 by compressed air. The member 7 acts as a pump, and a speed of 100,000 r.p.m. is mentioned.
