Abstract

802,002. Spray-producers. RUBBERLATEX-POEDER-COMPAGNIE, N.V. Dec. 24, 1954 [Dec. 28, 1953], No. 37339/54. Class 69 (3). Apparatus for converting liquids &c. into dry powders includes a rotary atomizer cup 23 on a drive shaft 21 and fed with liquid from a stationary tube 22. The liquid is thrown off the sharp rim of the cup into a casing 29 which is supplied with a drying gas from a conduit 5. A guide 26 on the tube deflects the gas through an annular passage 27 into the casing which comprises a volute of tapering cross-section. with a tangential outlet 7. Blades 24 on the cup draw cold air through a passage 25 into the apparatus, and the powder so formed, together with water vapour &c. are discharged from the volute through the outlet 7.
