Abstract

1361656 Threading yarn treatment apparatus IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 18 Oct 1972 [22 Oct 1971] 49118/71 Heading D1F Apparatus for treating continuously advancing yarn 4 comprises a yarn passageway 2, first guide means 3 for guiding yarn in proximity to the passageway entrance, locating means 7 for engaging a suction gun 8 over the passageway exit so that it may draw air over the guide 3 and through the passageway, and second guide means e.g. ceramic rod 5, for guiding yarn from the guide 3 round the outside of the apparatus and into a suction gun 8 engaged by the locating means 7. In operation, yarn 4 from a continuously advancing supply is entrained in suction gun 8 and threaded round guide 3 and over the guide 5. The gun 8 is then located at means 7 and the yarn engaged in slit 9 in the locating means 7. The yarn is then cut in the recess 6, either manually or by means actuated by engagement of the gun 8, and the cut end drawn into the passageway 2. The treating apparatus may be in the form of a fluid jet interlacer 1, a friction bush false-twister, or a yarn heater.
