Abstract
1358516 Suspended vehicles SOC STEPHANOISE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES 25 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 24819/72 Heading B7L A vehicle for running suspended from a track 1 comprises a support trolley 9 for running on the track 1 and a cab including a framework suspended from the trolley 9, the framework being formed of members 3, 4, (5) and 6 articulatorily connected to one another permitting the framework to be collapsed from an operative erected condition (shown dotted at 4, 6) to a collapsed condition (shown at 4a, 5a, 6a) so that the bulk of the cab can be reduced in the direction of height by a distance H. When the vehicle is coupled to further vehicles to form a train such collapsing facilitates access to the further vehicles, the first-mentioned vehicle being preferably a driving vehicle disposed at one end of the train. A jack (11) shown at 11a is provided to move the framework between its erected condition, in which it is locked by a hook (13) at 13a carried by the member 6 engaging apin (14) at 14a on the member 4, to its collapsed condition in which it is locked by a stop member (16) at 16a on the member 4 engaging a pin 15 on the member 3.
