[Class 79 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] A vehicle underframe comprises longitudinals d, e of shallow V-formation and rigid end and middle transversals, h and g respectively, forming isosceles and truncated isosceles triangles j, k. As shown the structure forms a wagon or carriage underframe. The triangles k accommodate a fitting for a haulage bar &c. and the wagon load is borne by four transverse members m placed under the longitudinal members. Buffers are mounted on the transverse members h.
