According to the present invention, the spindles dare carried by a gear box or the like represented in the diagram by a dish l, which gear box &c. is the driven element of the gearing, and may be the driving-wheel of a vehicle. Fly-wheels m may be combined with the masses g, and selectors or one-way clutches may be used. A friction clutch may be interposed between the element and a driven shaft, and resilient devices may be used anywhere.
