Abstract

1356471 Knitting-machine cams WARNER & SWASEY CO 22 Oct 1971 [2 Nov 1970] 49128/71 Heading D1C A circular rotary cylinder machine has a cam 'box including a tuck cam 32 movable between tuck and knit positions, and a stitch cam 26 and underlying up-throw cam 34 movable in unisonrelative thereto. A cam 30 acting on the butts prior to the tuck cam, is spring urged against it. The cam 32 is rotatable on axle 80 whose end is engaged by a member 84. Member 84 is turned by pushing aslatted sleeve 88, against spring 89, and into engagement with cross-pin 86, and rotating the sleeve. The stitch cam 26 over-lies cams 30, 32 and up-throw cam 34. The up-throw cam is releasably engaged with the stitch cam, and vertically movable in unison with it. The support of the up-throw cam includes a U-shaped bracket 66a engageable in a similar bracket 66 on the support of the stitch cam. The block 52 on which the stitch cam 26 is fixed carries a bar 53 engageable in the slot 54 of an axially movable rod 55. The rod is movable by a rotatable threaded member 61 to raise the cams 26, 34.
