1356349 Reciprocating pumps and motors SPERRY RAND CORP 15 Oct 1971 [28 Dec 1970] 48010/71 Heading F1A In an axial piston pump or motor comprising a rotary cylinder block 32 connected to a driveshaft 14 with limited freedom of movement to seat on a valve plate 12, and pistons 28 engaging an inclined plate 24, tilting of the cylinder block due to hydraulic pressure generated by the liquid circulating within the casing with the cylinder block is prevented by shaping the inner contour of the casing to restrict liquid circulation. As shown in Fig.4, baffles 38 are attached to or formed integrally with the casing and located at the mid-stroke positions of the pistons.
