Abstract

1354566 Electron lenses SIEMENS AG 24 June 1971 [25 June 1970] 29616/71 Heading H1D An electrostatic lens arrangement for a cathode-ray tube device comprises two coaxial cylindrical electrodes 19, 20 used as anodes and maintained at the highest positive potential in the device and a correcting ring electrode 26 arranged between two subsidiary ring electrodes 27, 28 surrounding the axis of electrodes 19, 20 the electrode 26 being maintained positive with respect to electrodes 27, 28 and shaped and positioned so as to correct abberations of the lens. The lens can be used in an electron microscope, a picture tube, a camera tube or a storage tube.
