Abstract
1354327 Spray carburettors G HAMMERSCHMIED 4 June 1971 [11 June 1970] 18980/71 Heading F1B In a carburettor having an insert 17 located in, and open in the axial direction of, the air feed pipe 10 upstream of the main nozzle fuel outlet 9, the insert is a truncated cone tapering off in the main direction of the air flow upstream of the air flap 13 and is arranged in spaced relation to the inner wall of the air feed pipe over its entire length. The insert 17 produces flow conditions by an injector effect which carry fuel vapours from the region of an air balance nozzle 12 in the direction of the arrows. The vent 14 from the float chamber extends into a lateral recess of a pipe 23 which extends from the central part of the insert to the closed position of valve 13 or to the main axis. The insert may be of expanded metal and may have a slot extending in the direction of flow.
