Abstract
1355249 Spray carburetters FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 10 June 1971 19867/71 Heading F1B The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in Specification 1355248, but the claims are concerned with a spark ignition I.C. engine in which air flows over a carburetter fuel jet and downstream of the jet there is an outlet for starting fuel, fuel-flow to the outlet being controlled by a valve which is urged to its open position by a spring and is moved to its closed position by the induction system vacuum when the vacuum has risen to a certain value after engine starting. The flow of fuel to outlet is blocked by a further valve responsive to throttle valve position before the vacuum falls below the certain value on throttle valve opening.
