Abstract

1352907 Traverse mechanisms A E FANES 16 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970] 38315/71 Heading D1J A yarn traverse mechanism, Fig. 8, in which a rotating track 24 is engaged by a pin 21 to reciprocate said pin is characterized in that a movable rebound element 20 is carried by the reciprocating means, there being fixed rebound means 33 comprising a series of cupshaped resilient discs 41 against which said movable rebound element 20 impacts at the end of each traverse stroke. In Fig. 1 the rotating cam 24 has its groove open at the traverse ends so that the pin 21 that is guided by the cam 24 can itself impact against fixed rebound elements 33, 34, 35 and so facilitate traverse reversal. The fixed rebound elements 33, 34, 35 should be in the form of a series of cup-shaped resilient discs 41, see Fig. 8. The pin 21 is rigid with a tube 18 sliding on a rod 17, the tube 18 carrying the thread guide 19. Fig. 6a shows how the cam 24 can have an opening 32 for the cam follower pin 21 to impact against the fixed rebound element 33. At the traverse reversal points the cam 24 may have replaceable elastic parts 37 that receive the pin 21 immediately after its impact with the fixed rebound means. The elastic parts 37 absorb the shock of impact and reduce friction.
