Abstract

1373425 Traversing device for yarn winding HEBERLEIN & CO AG 20 Jan 1972 [12 Feb 1971] 2793/72 Heading D1J A thread winding device has a thread guide bar 1 that is mounted for axial reciprocating movement with respect to a freely suspended frame 8, there being resilient means so disposed on the guide bar 1 or on the frame 8 as to take up at least part of the energy due to the movement of the guide bar in one direction and contribute to the acceleration of the guide bar in the opposite direction. In the drawing the bar 1 is carried by a bearing block 3 that has a weight 4 engaging a groove 6 in a rotatable drum. The block 3 carries rubber buffers 7a, 7b that strike against the frame 8, suspended at 9, at the stroke ends. In a modified construction the buffers 7a, 7b are carried by the frame 8. The rubber buffers may be replaced by springs or a compressible gas. According to the description only one resilient member may be provided which, with corresponding modification of the frame 8 or the bar 1, serves the same function.
