Abstract

976, 047. Winding. COMPAGNIE DE SAINTGOBAIN. Feb. 8, 1963 [Feb. 9, 1962], No. 5163/63. Heading D1J. A bobbin winding device, for example for a glass fibre roving, comprises a roller 7 that is traversed by the roving, and a cylinder 14 pressing against the bobbin, the cylinder 14 being associated with the roller such that as the package increases in diameter the cylinder 14 keeps the roller 7 spaced from the package. The roller 7 is carried by a block 10 that is slidable on the rod 11 and reciprocably driven, for example by a cam (not shown). The block 10 carries rotatable posts 4 for guiding the roving on to the roller 7. The cylinder 14 is mounted in a carriage 12 and when the package is fully ground the resulting displacement of the carriage 12 opens a contact to stop the machine.
