Abstract

Yarn or pref. a condensed roving passes over a feeler maintained away from a permanent magnet by the action of the roving. When a breakage occurs the feeler is attract by, and moves towards, the magnet thereby stopping the device (e.g. drafting device). The feeler doesn't exert a large force on the roving but on breakage a positive movement of the feeler is ensured by the magnet.
