Abstract

1289908 Stop motion SOC MANUFACTURE ALSACIENNE DE BROCHES 4 May 1970 [19 June 1969] 21458/70 Heading DID A yam break detection device comprises an oscillating two arm lever carrying a feeler which is intermittently placed against a run of the yam, or an intended path therefor. The lever also carries a means for stopping the supply of yarn upon breakage thereof. As shown, the yarn feeler is mounted on one arm of a lever 11 which is oscillated by a cam 13. The oscillating movement of the feeler is limited by the yarn, if present. If the yarn breaks the arm 11 moves to an extent sufficient to permit clamp 16 to clamp, and/or cut, the yarn end. A plurality of levers 11 may be mounted on a single shaft with this shaft being controlled so as to oscillate a plurality of levers.
