1507004 Thread breakage stop motions THOMA CO GmbH 5 March 1976 [6 March 1975] 08954/76 Heading D1D A thread breakage stop motion for a textile machine is provided in a thread suction duct I and comprises at least one comb 2, 3 swing- able about a spindle 6, 7 and having an operative position at an acute angle α to the duct axis the, free points facing the direction of flow S a monitoring device 16 being provided adjacent the comb points to detect the presence of thread pieces &c., and on such detection to stop the textile machine and operate a drive device 13. which swings the comb 2, 3 to a cleaning position where the comb teeth extend approximately in the flow direction S. As shown the monitoring device is a light beam and photocell and the drive device is an electric actuator. The stop motion operates when a broken thread end is ingested by the suction duct.
