Abstract

1,010,737. Stop-motions. LEESONA HOLT Ltd. Feb. 26,1964 [April 18,1963], No. 15235/63. Heading D1D. A thread-feeler for a stop-motion is in the form of a leaf-spring having a part adapted to be maintained by a running thread and of the position to which it is biased by its own resilience, the width of the feeler being at least thirty-two times its thickness. To adapt the feeler to different yarntensions, it is mounted adjustably in a clamp 12, or a bar 15 is moved to bear against it at an appropriate point. To actuate the stop motion when the thread fails, (a) the feeler may move into or out of contact with a bar 14 to establish or interrupt a control circuit; (b) the feeler may actuate a micro-switch; or (c) the movement of the feeler may affect a photo-electric circuit. The clamp 12 may be rotatable.
