Abstract

1352675 Friction hinge A W ANDERBERG MFG CO 22 Jan 1973 3225/73 Heading E2F A friction hinge comprises a pair of guide tracks 1 to be mounted on a frame 21 and a window 22 respectively, a pair of friction slides 7 movable along respective tracks, and a pair of arms 16 pivoted between their ends at 19, the four ends of the bars being pivotally connected, two to respective slides and two to respective guide tracks. Thus, Fig. 1, one bar may be connected to both slides and the other to the upper and lower ends of the tracks on the window and the frame respectively. When the window is moved to the open position its upper edge moves down a distance X. Alternatively, Fig. 7 (not shown) the bars may be pivoted to the upper ends of the respective tracks, the opposite ends of the bars being connected to the slides. Each slide 7 comprises a raised portion 8, Fig. 9, and a shoe 11 of plastics material adjustable by means of a screw 12; there may be a leaf spring 13 between screw and shoe.
