Abstract

1336092 Adjustable catch bar I A ASP and A H SUNDBERG 11 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 22203/72 Heading E2F In an adjustable catch for windows, doors and like opening members a catch bar 14 is pivotally mounted at one end 15 thereof to a fixed frame 10, the catch bar 14 being arranged for longitudinal sliding movement relative to a separate catch unit 16 mounted on the opening member. The catch unit 16 is provided with latching elements in the form of pins 36, 37 which are flexible to permit engagement with the catch unit from a non-engaged position by positively urging the pins to one side so that the pins engage in grooves 20 provided on each side of the catch bar 14 and may engage in latching positions 25 to hold the opening member in position. A wedge-shaped member 27 is formed on the catch bar 14 so that the latching pins 36, 37 yield until the pins are caught in the grooves 20. If it is desired to disengage the catch bar from the catch unit, recesses 28 are provided in the bar to enable the pins 36 and 37 to be forced therethrough.
