Abstract

1396285 Louvre window operating mechanisms PILLAR NACO (UK) LTD and W H RUSS 26 June 1972 [25 June 1971] 30016/71 Heading E2M [Also in Division F4] An operating mechanism for a louvre window (see Division F4) comprises pivots 22 for pivotally supporting the louvre blades parallel bars 27, 32 linking the pivots 22, a plate 28 attached to bar 32 and having a slot 33, and an operating handle 10 which is pivotally connected at 12 to the bar 27, is forked at its lower end to embrace bars 27, 32 and plate 28 and carries a pin 13 on which is mounted a roller 14 engaging in the slot 33. Anticlockwise movement (as viewed in Fig 3) of handle 10 causes plate 28 to move upwards to effect opening movement of the louvre blades. The louvre blades may be locked in their closed position by the roller 14 occupying an offset portion 33a of slot 33, or with a separate locking mechanism. A portion 11 of a window jamb 21 is cut away to allow movement of handle 10 and plate 28 may be flanged to hide part of the bar 27.
