Abstract

1350654 Jet looms MACHINEFABRIEK L TE STRAKE NV 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 26931/71 Heading D1E A picking nozzle 1 is connected to a diaphragm valve 5 connected to a cam operated piston valve 9 and a metering chamber 14 so that, after the metering chamber has dispensed a measured volume of air for picking, air can continue to flow to the nozzle to assist picking. In the Figure 1 position air through the piston valve 9 closes the diaphragm valve 5 against the seating 4 so that the metering chamber fills with air by way of a pressure reduction valve 12 and adjustable throttling valve 13. For picking the cam 23 moves the piston 17 so that air on the top of the diaphragm 10 is exhausted to atmospheric and air from the metering chamber 14 raises the diaphragm to initiate picking. When air from the chamber 14 is exhausted air continues to flow through the chamber to assist picking until the cam 23 releases the piston 17 causing the diaphragm to close on its seating 4 to cut off. the picking air. Supplementary warp wise picking nozzles may be provided.
