Abstract
1350448 Electromagnetic fuel injectors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 3 Aug 1971 [4 Aug 1970] 36359/71 Heading F1B A chamber 26 into which the nozzle orifice 21 of the injector opens has at least one tangential bore 30, 31 in its peripheral wall 28 through which, in use, air is drawn to provide a vortex with fuel injected into the chamber. The chamber outlet 33 is coaxial with the orifice 21. The air inlet pipe 39 is connected to the intake of the engine induction pipe 40. The bores 30, 31 and/or respective air lines leading to the bores may be dimensioned such that between substantially a third and a half of the air needed for engine idling passes through the chamber 26. A throttle may be provided in the pipe 39. The axes of the bores may lie in respective planes having respective angles of inclination to the injector axis.
