Abstract

1299473 I C engine fuel injectors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 6 March 1970 [8 March 1969] 10806/70 Heading F1B Needle valve surfaces 7 and 10 are subjected to the fuel pressure in respective chambers 8 and 11, connected by at least one permanently open throttling passage 13, to open the valve. A cylindrical needle portion 3 between the surfaces 7 and 10 emerges from its guide bore when the injector delivery quantity is greater than the delivery quantity at idling and fuel flows to the injector orifice 14 substantially unthrottled. A plurality of throttling passages 13 may be provided in the valve body 1 and the needle and body seating surfaces 5 and 6 may be flat, Fig. 2 (not shown). The throttling passage 13 may be provided in the cylindrical needle portion 3, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), or defined between the cylindrical needle portion 3 and its guide bore, Fig.5 (not shown).
