1350411 Ship cabin construction J A R GARCIA 27 May 1971 [1 March 1971] 17562/71 Heading B7S A ship cabin construction system comprises an upper frame 15, 16 fixed to the wall and/or ceiling regions of a space in the ship hull and a lower frame 10 fixed to the wall and/or floor regions of the space. The members of both frames have a cross-sectional shape which has an open recess 23 facing downwardly and upwardly 36 respectively. Removable wall panels 35 stand vertically in the peripheral recess in the lower frame and project into the peripheral recess in the upper frame only so far that there remains in the upper recess 23 above the wall panels a free space which is at least equal in height to the upwardly facing recess in the lower frame. Sealing strips 32, 33 reduce vibration and resultant noises.
