Abstract

1,039,034. Lift cars. OTIS ELEVATOR CO. May 11, 1964 [May 27, 1963], No. 19465/64. Heading B8L. The fixed side walls 12 of a lift car are secured to a base member 13 secured to the platform 11 and are covered by detachable, reversible, decorative faced panels 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d. A moulding 48 is bonded to the edge surfaces of each panel and recessed into the moulding on the top and bottom edges are two slots. The bottom of each panel is supported by two V- shaped brackets secured to the member 13 and engaging in the slots in the moulding and the top of each panel is supported by clips 24 bolted to a frame member 26 which is secured to the wall 12 and supports the roof 17. The legs 40 of the clips engage in the slots in the moulding on the top edge of the panel. The V-shaped brackets and clips 24 are shaped so as to space the panels from the walls 12 to prevent the finished surfaces of the panels from being damaged by contact with the walls 12. Felt covered blocks 51, 53 are secured to the walls 12 to prevent deflection of the panels.
