1349969 Portable pressurised extinguishers COMPAGNIE CENTRALE SIOLI 25 May 1971 [15 June 1970] 16867/71 Heading A5A A pressurised fire extinguisher has reservoir 1 surmounted by a unitary medium expelling device which comprises circular plate 3 formed centrally with depending tube 4 for supporting gas bottle 5 and adjacent siphon tube 8, and with outlet passage 10 above tube 4, reservoir 1 and plate 3 being coupled together by grooved segment 15 which encloses mutually engaging parts of 1 and 3, a cap 2 being mounted over the medium expelling unit, having a discharge port 16, and being formed at its lower end with means to engage segment 15 in a position where outlet port 16 and passage 10 are aligned. The upper surface of tube 5 seating on the shoulder formed in plate 3 of the inner end of passage 10 forms a closure valve for 10 opened by pin 11 when hinged handle 12 is operated. Handle 12, hinge 13 and plate 3 are preferably formed as a single plastics unit. Piercing element 6 for gas bottle 5 has exit channels covered by rupturable sheet 7, and the foot of tube 8 is similarly closed by sheet 9.
