Abstract

1349925 Open end spinning; yarns SPIN NEREIMASCHINENBAU KARL - MARX - STADT VEB 9 May 1972 21631/72 Headings DID D1F and D1W [Also in Division H1] An open end spinning device comprises a fibre conveying duct 2 supplying fibres to the surface of a collecting drum 7. A pair of electrodes 9, 10 either side of the outlet of duct 2 parallelise the fibres across the outlet. A pair of discs 12, 13 between the electrodes interrupt the electric field and permit the fibres to drop onto the drum 7. The drum carries the fibres to a fibre removal member 18, which co-operates with the drum, and a twisting member 19 to twist the fibres into a yarn. There may be a plurality of fibre conveying ducts 2 each supplying the collecting surface 7. The fibres may be held on the collecting surface 7 by a corona discharge device 16, 17. The fibre-removal member can be constructed as a funnel 18 which tapers in the direction in which the yarn is taken off. There may be two fibre-removal funnels which are arranged coaxially and partially engaging each other, the funnels each having separate fibre supply arrangements, Fig. 12 not shown. The fibreremoval members can be disposed between two further electrodes 20, at least one of these electrodes being the twist-imparting means. The fibre-removal members may be disposed between two twist-imparting means. An auxiliary yarn may pass through the fibreremoving funnel and the twisting zone to assist movement and spinning of the fibres.
