Abstract

1346982 Bottle and stopper SAINT-GOBAIN INDUSTRIES 22 Feb 1972 [24 Feb 1971] 8119/72 Heading B8T A stopper for a bottle having a mouth 4 formed with an annular recess 3 joined to a cylindrical neck 2, comprises a hollow body 5 closed by a cap 6 joined to the body by a frangible seal 7, the body being formed externally with a cylindrical portion 10, having an annular groove 13, and two frusto-conical portions 8, 9 which meet to form an annular recess 11. When sealing the bottle, an elastic ring 12 is moved from a first position in the annular recess 11 to a second position in the annular groove 13 and it extends into the recess 3 of the bottle mouth while a flange 14 engages the edge of the mouth 4. The bottle and stopper may be made of polypropylene or a plastics material resistant to heat deformation.
