Abstract

1346241 Suspended scaffolding WESTERN GEAR EUROP SA NV 18 May 1971 [19 May 1970] 15572/71 Heading E1S A cradle or like suspended scaffolding includes a platform which consists of a floor 9 supported on cross-members 7 extending between two side members each comprising two longitudinal tubes 1, 2 or 3, 4 connected by a plate 5 or 6, hangers 10 and guard rails 22, 23 being attached to the ends and sides respectively of the platform, as shown. The hangers 10 fit between the side members of the platform and are secured thereto by long bolts 19 about which the hangers may pivot; the guard rails are each in two detachable parts 22, 23 of such height that they may fit flat within the platform, to facilitate storage and transportation. Elements for connecting adjacent platforms may be located in the ends of the tubes 1-4. An adjustable extension to the scaffolding may be constructed similarly and provided on its floor surface with longitudinal rails in which rollers mounted on the underside of the main platform are held captive (Fig. 5, not shown), to suspend the extension slidably from the scaffolding. Four scaffolding units may be. secured together in square or rectangular formation around a column or pillar (Figs. 6-9 not shown) and rollers are fitted thereto for movement along the column.
