Abstract

1,257,791. Cargo transporting platforms; securing containers to vehicles. CRAVENS HOMALLOY (SHEFFIELD) Ltd. 14 April, 1969 [23 April, 1968], No. 19220/68. Headings B8P and B8Q. A cargo transporting platform consists basically of a floor 10, end walls 12 and a number of longitudinally spaced anchorages 40 below the upper surface of the floor. The floor may consist of a number of transverse wooden planks supported by a metal section framework. A web, comprising a horizontal portion 36 and an inclined portion 38, extends between two of the outer members 16 on each side of the metal framework. A number of longitudinally spaced holes in each web are adapted to accommodate metal fittings 43 as anchorages for ropes. The wooden planks 32 immediately above the anchorages are detachable. The end walls are of pressed steel panels 20 flanked by corner posts 22 with corner castings 26 and 28 conforming to I.S.O. standards. The metal section framework is also supplied with pin castings 29. An optional P.V.C. coated nylon flexible cover 44 is supported by inverted U-section tubular members 46, which locate in holes 50, in a metal member 52 fixed to the outside of the metal framework, when the cover is extended.
