Abstract

1344899 Brake actuators DR ING hoF PORSCHE AG 8 Nov 1971 [11 Nov 1970] 51788/71 Heading F2E An internal shoe drum brake has actuating means including a cylindrical member whose axis is at right angles to the drum axis and operable parallel to the drum axis, the shoes being actuated through levers pivoted on the member which is adjustably connected to a draw member by threaded engagement therewith. A draw cable 10 has a threaded sheath 17 mounting the member in the form of a pin 9 having two peripheral grooves in which lie forked bifurcated ends of two levers 11 having forked ends engaging slots in the ends of respective brake shoes 3. The cable and shoes are spring released. The other ends of the shoes 3 abut a wear adjustor. In the retracted position, the shoes 3 abut against a fixed bracket.
