Abstract

1344260 Valves UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES 20 April 1971 [23 April 1970 16 June 1970] 19529/70 and 29144/70 Heading F2V Thermostatic valve for gas burners, comprises a valve body 16 containing a valve head 20 cooperating with a seat 19 and biased e.g. by a spring 21 to engage a part 23 of a flexible container 11 secured to the valve body. The container 11 is connected, e.g. through capillary tube 12, to an external container 10 containing liquid and/or vapour, e.g. mercury, and intended for exposure to a pilot or main burner flame. As shown, the flexible container is formed of two corrugated metal diaphragms 13 and is connected to the body by an interference fitted or adhesively secured stem 14. In another embodiment, (Fig. 2, not shown), a stem (32) is secured by spring washers (34).
