Abstract
1343306 Producing sintered mouldings FELDMUHLE ANLAGEM-UND PRODUKTIONS GmbH 19 April 1971 [11 April 1970] 9797/71 Heading C7D A sintered moulding comprising a refractory metal oxide admixed with W +/ or Mo and comprising strata with different metal contents is manufactured by calcining a stratified body containing the refractory metal mixed with tungsten oxide and/ or molybdenum oxide in a reducing atmosphere to form the W and/or Mo in situ. Suitable refractory oxides comprise those of Al, Mg, Be and Y. Calcination is carried out between 600+1000‹C (preferably 800-1000‹C) and may be preceded by an oxidation step at about 500‹ C. The strata may range for example from 100% Mo to 100% aluminium oxide. This facilitates soldering and welding with other metals The body may be used as an electric insulator.
