Abstract

1289616 Ceramic to metal seals PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Feb 1970 [18 Feb 1969] 6997/70 Heading B3V [Also in Divisions H1 and H5] A solder glass 15 secures niobium current supply members 3, 5, to covers 11, 13, of densely sintered aluminium oxide and to sealing elements 7, 9, of the same ceramic material, and also secures the covers and sealing elements together, in the gas-tight sealing of a discharge lamp with a tubular envelope 1 of densely sintered aluminium oxide. An argon atmosphere is maintained during sealing in an electric oven (see Divisions H1 and H5).
