Abstract

1342046 Sulphenamides FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO 20 Jan 1972 [8 Feb 1971] 2872/72 Heading C2C A sulphenamide is produced by reacting substantially equimolar amounts of an N-chloramine and an ammonium, alkali metal or alkaline earth thiol salt of diazine, triazine or pyridine or an alkyl, aryl, mono- or di-alkylamino derivative thereof, in an aprotic solvent at - 50‹ C. to 100‹ C., whereby because of the ready solubility of chloramines therein and the slight solubility of such thiol salts therein, the salt reacts slowly with the chloramine producing a sulphenamide of high purity in high yield.
