Abstract
1336839 Adjusting vehicle headlamps SOC ANON DBA 8 Sept 1972 [28 Sept 1971] 41847/72 Heading F4R An automatic device for correcting the inclination of the headlamps of a vehicle according to the trim of the vehicle body includes means for inserting a resistance in the headlamp supply circuit if the device fails. The device preferably comprises a pneumatic circuit 1 and the means includes a relay 12 in series with a first switeh 13 held open by the pneumatic pressure and a second switch 14 closed by variations in the vehicle trim. Loss of pressure in the circuit 1 when the suspension element 7 is deflected completes the circuit to the relay 12 which operates a contact 17 to insert the resistance 9 into the headlamp circuit. Preferably the resistance is placed in circuit with the dipped beam lamps.
