Abstract

1426611 Controlling vehicle headlamps CIBIE PROJECTEURS 5 March 1973 [6 March 1972] 10602/73 Heading F4R Mechanism for controlling the orientation of a vehicle headlamp 10 comprises a fluidic control circuit 15 of known type, a transducer 13 which connects the circuit to the headlamp, and an expansion element to compensate for the effects of temperature variations on the circuit. In the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 1 the element consists of a polythene plate 30 which is connected at one end 31 to a metal bracket 20 mounted on a fixed part 12 of the vehicle body and at the other end 32 to a metal bracket 21 second to the transducer. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the bracket (50) mounted on the fixed part of the vehicle body is made of polythene and the plate is omitted. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the element consists of a polythene rod (60) secured at one end to the output element (16) of the transducer and at the other end to a stirrup (61) connected to the headlamp.
