Abstract

1,209,301. Vehicle lighting systems. ESSEX INTERNATIONAL Inc. 9 Oct., 1967 [8 July, 1966], No. 30886/66. Heading H2H. A vehicle lighting system comprises a threeposition switch 3 movable to the conditions all lights off (contact pairs 3a, 3a<SP>1</SP>; 3c, 3c<SP>1</SP>), side lights energized (3b, 3b<SP>1</SP>; 3c, 3c<SP>1</SP>), side and heads lights energized (3b, 3b<SP>1</SP>; 3d, 3d<SP>1</SP>), the contacts 3c, 3c<SP>1</SP> being connected to the dip filaments 6 through a resistor 5 and auxiliary contacts 4 of the ignition switch, so that when the latter is closed with switch 3 in the side lights energized condition the filaments 6 operate in a dimdipped condition.
