Abstract

1336773 Tables T SAKOW 30 Dec 1971 60788/71 Heading A4H A table for a sewing machine or typewriter comprises a horizontal centre panel 10; a pair of end panels 14, 16 hinged thereto at 18, 20 so as to be movable between a horizontal open position as shown and a raised vertical closed position Fig. 2 (not shown); and a roll-top cover 58 that in the open position is vertical and is slideably received in tracks 54 in the legs 48 and tracks 32, 40 provided at the side ends of a passageway 44 in a guide member 22. When panels 14, 16 are vertical, tracks 201, 202 therein communicate with tracks 32, 40 and the cover 58 can be pulled up, around and down to form a closure (Fig. 2). Panels 14, 16 are held to member 22 by magnetic catches and the panels 14, 16 are retained in their vertical position by locking tabs (78), Figs.3, 3A, 4, (not shown) on the cover 58 engaging in the tracks 201, 202. The panels 14, 16 are supported in their horizontal position by pull-out arms (95), Fig.2, (not shown). In the closed position, a lip 97 on the cover 58 spring fits into a slot 99 in panel 10. In a modification Fig. 5, (not shown), cut-outs (110) in the cover 58 are engaged by pins on rotatable wheels (106, 108) in the tracks.
