Abstract

The lock is fixed to the front of the chest at the top and operates an intermediate part which operates vertical drawer locking rods. Each rod can slide vertically in a mounting and can be moved into three positions. In the first position the drawers are free to open and in the second position a drawer which has been left open when the lock is closed can be closed and so locked. In the third position none of the drawers can be opened. The rods have locking mechanisms associated with each drawer, consisting of a pin which slides in a groove in the drawer.
