Abstract

1428861 Multiple fastenings BARRY WRIGHT CORP 18 Feb 1974 [27 Sept 1973] 7284/74 Heading E2A The drawers of a filing cabinet are interlocked so as to prevent the withdrawal of more than one at a time by means of a vertically sliding bar 86 having projecting pins 110 which engage a ramp arrangement 64 on the drawer in such a way that withdrawal of a drawer causes a corresponding pin to ride up surface 74 thus lifting all the other pins to a position in which they abut surface 72 of the other drawers to prevent their withdrawal. The positions of the pins 110 are adjustable to match their respective drawers by means of a clamping-nut arrangement 112, 114, 116. The sliding bar 86 is indexed in its active and inactive positions by a detent arrangement 138, 150 at the top of the cabinet. The drawer guide supports 34 are used as part of the guide for an articulated sliding front cover 14.
