Abstract
1331836 Knitting-machines STRUMPFKOMBINAT ESDA THALHEIM 30 March 1971 8190/71 Headings D1C and D1K A two-ply twisted stocking toe is knitted on a superposed cylinder machine by transferring alternate needles to the upper cylinder, knitting a sufficient length of fabric and interrupting the drive to the upper cylinder by means of a clutch while the lower rotates at least 180‹. The toe is completed by re-transferring the needles and knitting anti-ravelling joining courses. The centre of the length of fabric is of thinner thread than the rest of the toe.
