Abstract

1339355 Knitting-machines STIBBE-MONK DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 30 May 1972 [23 June 1971] 29375/71 Heading D1C In a V-bed knitting machine comprising two needle beds 1, 2 arranged at an angle to each other compound knitting instruments are provided in the tricks thereof each comprising a hook element 10 mounted on an outer portion 10 and having a butt 13 which is engageable by a selector element 8 under the control of a selector mechanism and inner loop retaining elements 5, 6 which have a common butt 11 and which act to close the hook during normal knitting and to spread the loop during its transfer from one bed to the other the two major parts being independently operable by separate cam tracks in the cam box of the machine.
