Abstract

1,247,625. Knitting. V. SETTON. 19 Jan., 1970, No. 2516/70. Headings D1C and D1K. In a circular knitting machine having sinkers carried in a ring, each sinker comprises an elongate body with a head end 2 extending beyond and parallel to a first nose 3 which extends beyond and parallel to a second nose 4 and the sinkers are selected by a rotary pattern control device having positions in which may be placed long or short bits 7a, 7b which engage the tail 8 of the selected sinker to cause it to form larger or smaller loops over its second or its first nose or no butt when the sinker is not selected and an ordinary sinker loop is formed. Thus a pattern of long and short loops can be produced. Sinkers with more than two noses can be provided.
