1351953 Knitting SOLIS SRL 18 Aug 1971 [25 Aug 1970] 38711/71 Headings D1C and D1K Tights or the like are knitted on a two bed circular knitting machine by first knitting the pant portion 9, 11 by oscillating the beds through substantially 360‹ to knit alternately on the two beds with the same yarn and then knitting the two legs 17, 19 one on each bed with separate yarns by continuous rotary knitting so that one leg 19 is inside the other 17, the other having a plain stitch and the one a purl stitch. As shown a machine with two cylinders 1, 3 has needles 5, 7 staggered with respect to one another. The body of the tights may commence with a resilient welt and is knitted from a double yarn fed from two guides. Then tubular lengths 17, 19 are knitted by continuous rotation of the two cylinders to which the yarn which may be finer is respectively fed by two yarn guides moved independently. Multiple feeds may be used and patterning is possible. When completed, lengths 17, 19 may be closed on the machine and leg 19 is pulled inside out.
