Abstract

1341636 Knitting IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [10 April 1970] 25181/71 Headings D1C and D1K A cylinder and dial machine is provided with a yarn guide 20 to supply separate yarns to the two beds for knitting areas of two-ply fabric, as in, e.g. Milanno rib. The eye 24 is so positioned that yarn Y is fed behind the cylinder needles to the dial hooks, while the eye 22 is so arranged that yarn X lies below the dial needles. The conventional guide 16 serves as a latch guard. When knitting fabrics having two-ply areas yarn is taken by needles of both beds at one or more conventional feed stations, e.g. Feeds 1 and 2. Thereafter at at least one station, e.g. Feed 3, each bed of needles simultaneously knits a separate yarn.
